Further equipment and accessoiries

What else we are planning to carrie with us and on our motors...?
( tank-bags, boxsystems, pack bags, sleeping bags... )- our experience with the used equipment and with our motobikes, you can read on the page [Testing] and from February 2005 also in our travel-logs..

Many reports we read, told about parcels filled with unused material, which were sent back after a few weeks.
We wonder when we will send back our first parcel.;-)

You should not overdo with you equipment...
...therefore our further baggage contains mostly the usual outdoor equipment.

If somebody is interested in details, he could mail us, or take a look
    at our ( Word-Dokument, 229KB ( both in German! ), or PDF, 280KB ).

    Tires:
Mefo Explorer Satz We decided us for using the mefo Explorer for the whole way.
The 'Explorer' tires have beeen fitted to our motorcycles yet and two pairs of the 'Explorer' we will carrie with us.
Because until the streets of Mongolia we will mostly have asphalt and gravel under the tires, the Explorer should be allright. The Explorer should also be a very long-life tire.

Fueltank bag on the XL Fueltank bag on the XL The Fueltank-bag on the XL is a modified model from Polo-Shop, the 'Pharao' with side-bags. Modified by a bag-maker with clips and belts so that the broken zipper is no more needed. The side-bags are now fixed with belts, so that their zipppers can also give up...
The modification was cheaper -45 €, that is fair - than buying an new one which is also only equiped with zippers...

    Box-systems:
Both motorbikes are equiped with boxes from Hepco & Becker.
The Baghira carries the legendary aluminium boxes 'Standard', Volume 37 l., which has already been succesfully tested on our Greek-Tour in September 2003.
At the XL are also boxes from Hepco & Becker installed - the new boxes 'Gobi'.
It made me curious to be able to carring 3,5 l water in each box! Also the less weight of 3 kg and the promised stability made me wonder - so I bought them.
We say THANKS to Hepco & Becker for their friendly support!

    Sleeping bags
Because of the support from unterwegs.biz (look at [Sponsors] ) we was already able to use our ajungilak® compact sleeping-bags. In the cold nights at the Intermot2004 in Munich we were very happy about them! Together with the Cocoon®-Inlays (look at [Sponsors] ) they made us warm feet!
We are looking forward to the 'real' use in a few month...
